What’s a “slow cooker”?

Question by :
What’s a “slow cooker”?

Is it specific to a plug-in crock pot? Or, can i use a big, thick, deep iron pot on a stove top? It’s for a Paula Deen recipe beef stew.

Its a crock pot. You can slow cook on your stove, but you have to watch it carefully.

A slow cooker is specific. You can convert it though to stove top.

crock pot. same thing. Slow cookers are usually big. Great for clow cooking food in the morning and doen when u get home, on low. I always cooked but learned to like crock pots for convenience. throw it all in and sit back. u can also set to high and warm. stews are good cooked on high 2 hrs or low, 4-6 hrs.

You can use a pot with a cover on the stove, cook on the lowest heat.
